“The opportunity to work in Bowling Green in a bigger school system that has experienced such success was hard to pass up,” Head said. “My time in Russellville is priceless, being able to be the AD and the girls’ coach and also to be able to coach softball there, wearing all those hats and seeing the growth of the athletes and the programs and what we were able to accomplish is nothing short of amazing.”
Head coached the Lady Panthers basketball program to a 29-53 record in three seasons. Russellville went 11-20 last season and made its first trip back to the Region 4 tournament since 2012 by upsetting defending District 13 champion Logan County in the district semifinals. Head also was the head coach of the softball team in 2016.
“It was an amazing experience with the support and the buy-in from the community, administration and, most of all, the girls with what we were trying to accomplish there in a three-year span,” Head said. “I saw our program improve drastically. That was a very, very tough decision for me to leave them with the progress we had made.”{&end}
