Western Kentucky’s softball game at No. 20 Kentucky scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled and will not be made up.

With severe weather in the forecast across the Bluegrass State, the game that was set to air on the SEC Network will not be rescheduled. 

For the first time since 2011, the in-state rivals will not meet on the dirt during the spring season. The 2008 campaign is the only other season that the Hilltoppers and Wildcats have not met since the WKU program began back in 2000.

Next up, WKU will hit the road again to head to Texas for a weekend series at UTEP. Saturday will feature a doubleheader followed by the series finale on Sunday in El Paso.
