Christian Academy-Louisville cruises by Danville 24-6

Milton Wright accounted for three touchdowns and Christian Academy-Louisville stifled Danville to win the KHSAA Class 2A state championship 24-6 on Sunday at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
CAL (14-1) scored on a pair of safeties and forced Danville (12-3) into two turnovers and two missed field goals as the Centurions captured their first state championship.
CAL won the title despite failing to convert 11 third-down attempts and Danville’s 231-205 edge in total yards.
Wright helped break a 2-0 lead at halftime with touchdown receptions of 27 and 45 yards from Austin Carr in the third quarter. Another safety and Wright’s 7-yard pass to Nick Weaver made it 24-0 in the fourth quarter.
Wright finished with three receptions for 84 yards and 23 rushing yards.
Danville, which averaged 39 points per game in the regular season, avoided the shutout with a 3-yard shovel pass from Zack Dampier to Dmauriae Vancleave late in the fourth quarter.
Dampier went 19-for-35 and 163 yards for Danville in its 14th appearance in the state finals.
