Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Mason of Bowling Green celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 14, 2016, with a trip to Hilton Head, S.C., with their children and grandchildren.

Mason and the former Lucy Fulton were married by Ed Van Hooser on Oct. 14, 1966, at Park Street Church of Christ in Bowling Green.

Darrel retired from Bell South with 31 years of service. Lucy retired from Bowling Green Independent School District as an elementary school teacher. She taught for 10 more years at Foundation Christian Academy.

They have two sons, Shane (Shauna) Mason of Louisville and Todd (Lisa) Mason of Bowling Green. They have one grandson, Zachery, and four granddaughters, Kassidy, Kailyn, Caroline and Sophie Mason.
