Ray ‘Junior’ Spinks

Ray “Junior” Spinks, 76, of Richardsville died at 9:51 p.m. Feb. 12, 2008, at The Medical Center.
The Edmonson County native was born Jan. 29, 1932. He was retired from Jackson’s Orchard. He was a Baptist and served in the Army as a corporal during the Korean War. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa and brother. He was a son of the late Cecil Spinks and Ellen Nugent Spinks Crum. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Allan Clinton Spinks and Dairl Spinks.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wilma Simmons Spinks; two daughters, Audrey Spinks of Richardsville and Janice McDonald and her husband, Terry, of Woodburn; six sons, Gary Spinks and his companion, Sue Kendall, Larry Spinks and his wife, Donna, and Nathan Spinks and his wife, Robin, all of Bowling Green, Steve Spinks and his wife, Linda, Mark Spinks and his wife, Tammy, and Andy Spinks, all of Richardsville; a brother, Joe Spinks and his wife, Mamie, of Sweeden; 11 grandchildren, Melinda, Amy, Brandy, Matthew, Joye Beth, Adam, Miranda, Torye, Cody, Sara Beth and Christopher; and six great-grandchildren, Coreena, Calub, Allison, Erin, Macy and Jacob.
