Briscoe produces in doubleheader for Longwood

Longwood University junior outfielder Janos Briscoe (Warren East Class of 2012) produced in a pair of starting assignments in right field for the Lancers on Saturday.
Briscoe was 1 for 3 in Longwood’s 7-1 loss to Presbyterian in the opener of a doubleheader in Clinton, S.C.
In Game 2, Briscoe was 2 for 3 with an RBI and scored a run in the Lancers’ 9-5 loss.
Longwood (25-20 overall, 9-9 Big South Conference) returns to action May 6 with a home game against UNC Asheville.

Calhoun Community College (Ala.) sophomore third baseman Ty Pitts (South Warren Class of 2014) totaled three hits in Saturday’s doubleheader against Shelton State (Ala.).
In the opener, Pitts was 2 for 4 with a double and and RBI in the Warhawks’ 14-2 victory.
Pitts was 1 for 2 in the nightcap, a 4-2 loss.
Calhoun (30-21 overall, 14-10 Alabama Community College Conference) is back in action May 5 at Lawson State (Ala.).

Brescia freshman outfielder Colton Hurt (Franklin-Simpson Class of 2015) drove in a run in both games of a doubleheader against visiting Point Park (Pa.) on Saturday.
Point Park won the opener, 6-2, before Brescia came back to earn a 3-2 win in its regular-season finale.
Brescia (18-35 overall, 9-11 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) returns to action in the KIAC tournament scheduled to begin play May 4.
