The Reverend, 35, was arraigned Wednesday morning in Allen District Court on one count of murder.

SCOTTSVILLE – The man accused of murder in the death of his roommate at Scottsville Manor will undergo a psychiatric evaluation to help determine his comepetency to assist in his criminal defense.

The Reverend, 35, was arraigned Wednesday morning in Allen District Court on one count of murder.

Formerly known as Robert Allen Reynolds, The Reverend is accused of killing Gary Glueck at the assisted living facility where they lived.

Glueck was strangled with an electrical cord and stabbed with a plastic spork, according to authorities.

The Reverend asked for a court-appointed public defender, then said he had a statement to make.

Allen District Judge Martha Harrison “strongly advised” him not to speak until he could meet with his attorney, public defender Kayla Fugate.

Fugate requested that The Reverend be evaluated by the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center, telling Harrison she believed there were questions about her client’s competency.

“I don’t think we can even have a preliminary hearing at this point,” Fugate said.

Harrison granted the motion. No new court date has been set.
