A Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. meter reader Thursday found a female lying in a ditch.

“He was reading meters somewhere up in Butler County, and he pulled out of a drive and looked over and saw this person laying in a ditch,” said Rick Carroll, director of communications for WRECC. “So he pulled over and called 911.”

The meter reader was on Ky. 2713 near the Butler/Ohio county line.

The meter reader waited for emergency personnel to arrive to assist the female, and then he spoke with Kentucky State Police about the incident, Carroll said.

A KSP Post 16 spokesman was not immediately available this morning.
