Woman dies after crash

A Bowling Green woman died Friday night after a single-car crash.
Deputies responded at 7:44 p.m. to the 3100 block of Browning Road, where a 1991 Dodge was found upside down, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, April Skillern, 37, was thrown from the vehicle. Skillern was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Services but was pronounced dead before she could be flown to a hospital.
Skillern was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and speed and alcohol are considered to be factors in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
Crash — A Bowling Green man was injured Saturday in a single-car crash.
Cesar Medina, 24, was driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger when it left Mount Olivet Road in the 2400 block, according to the Warren sheriff’s Office. The vehicle struck several small trees and one large tree, causing the vehicle to spin 180 degrees to the left and come to a stop on the shoulder of the road.
Medina was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to The Medical Center and then flown to Skyline Hospital in Tennessee.
A witness reported seeing the vehicle just prior to the crash traveling at a high rate of speed near Ky. 526 and Louisville Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Arrest — Danny K. Combs, 60, of Russellville, was arrested Friday following a traffic stop in Logan County.
A deputy stopped a 1998 Honda Accord on Locke Ferguson Road near Clarksville Road for suspicion of careless driving at 2:48 p.m., according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, with the assistance of K-9 Jinx from the sheriff’s office, found methamphetamine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia during the stop.
Combs is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, license to be in possession, failure to produce insurance card and careless driving.
