Terry Lee Owens

Terry Lee Owens, 73, passed away May 19, 2015, at his home in Thornton, Colo. 

Terry was a native of Bowling Green, born to the late James Arthur and June Marcum Owens. After graduating College High in 1959, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Bunker Hill Air Force Base where he met his wife, Louise Rowland Owens. After serving four years in the Air Force, he married Louise and they settled in Indianapolis. In 1978 they moved to Denver/Westminster, Colo., to be closer to skiing and the great outdoors. 

Terry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise Rowland Owens; children Eric Owens (Merri Fisbeck) and Elizabeth “Libby” Hutfles (Chuck) of Thornton, Colo.; five wonderful grandchildren, Adrienne Owens Tafilowski (Ryan) of Edinburg, Scotland, Justin Owens of Fort Collins, Colo., Lee Hutfles of Thornton, Colo., Hannah Hutfles Dalstra (Adrian) of Thornton, Colo., and Avery Hutfles, currently in Army basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.; a great-grandson, August Jaxson Dalstra, born April 18, 2015; and brother Marc Owens (Melanie DeJarnette) and sister Wanda McCloud (Fred), all of Bowling Green.

Terry was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Lamar Owens (wife Dorothy Adamson Owens survives); sister Norma Owens Morabito (Joseph) of Baltimore; half sister Jean Marie Owens Richmond; and half brother James Carrol Owens of Metairie, La.

A memorial service to honor Terry was Tuesday at Crossroads Church in Northglenn, Colo. Terry requested that no flowers be sent but donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
