He was arrested Jan. 23 in Bowling Green and charged with careless driving and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Jackson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 14 days of home incarceration, an alcohol and drug education program and his license was suspended for a year in Kentucky and Florida, according to court records.

It was his second DUI incident in less than a year following a charge in May in Muncie, Ind.

Jackson finished his WKU career with 326 tackles and was named all-Sun Belt Conference in 2012 and 2013. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft.

Jackson must clear the waiver wire before he becomes a free agent. The NFL’s other 31 teams have time to place a claim on him before he’s on the open market.
