WKU commit Phabian Glasco

Phabian Glasco, a 6-foot-7 forward from Connors State College in Oklahoma, confirmed to the Daily News on Saturday that he’s verbally committed to Western Kentucky.

Glasco first announced the news on his Twitter account. He’s visiting WKU this weekend.

Glasco averaged 12.5 points and 10.6 rebounds as a sophomore at Connors State. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining and can play right away.

The Tulsa, Okla., native spent his freshman season at Central Arkansas, where he averaged 5.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

He averaged 16 points and nine boards as a senior at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa before spending a post-graduate season at MacDuffie School in Massachusetts.

Glasco fills a need WKU coach Ray Harper expressed during the 2014-15 season for an athletic big man. He shot 63.5 percent from the field last season.

The post player’s first chance to officially sign with the Hilltoppers will be Wednesday, when the spring signing period begins. It continues through May 20.

Glasco joins freshman guards Chris McNeal and Marlon Hunter, JUCO guard Fredrick Edmond and Illinois graduate transfer guard Aaron Cosby in WKU’s 2015 recruiting haul.
