Most girls grow up wanting to be a princess.

Who can blame them?

No one. Every girl is a princess in our eyes and they should always be treated like a princess through their lives.

One such princess is Bowling Green resident Caroline Ford.

Ford, 18, is living a lot of girls’ dreams right now after she was crowned Miss Kentucky Teen USA on Jan. 11 in Louisville.

This was truly a dream come true for Ford who has worked extremely hard to get where she is now.

Ford, who will begin Western Kentucky University this week, has competed in other pageants. She competed in the Miss Kentucky Teen County Fair in 2012 and Miss Kentucky Outstanding Teen, which is affiliated with the Miss America Organization, where she was third runner-up. She was also third runner-up in the Miss Kentucky Teen USA Pageant in 2014.

Needless to say Ford has seen her share of pageants and to win this pageant and to proceed to the Miss Teen USA Pageant in August in the Bahamas has to be a dream come true for the recent South Warren High School graduate.

Ford’s comments and enthusiasm about winning the pageant show someone who truly loves being in them and relishes how rewarding they are considering the countless hours of work and preparation she and other contestants must put into them.

It also has to be rewarding for the young ladies who don’t win these pageants just to have the opportunity to compete in them.

Not only is Ford active in pageants, she is also very involved in the community. Ford has a passion for acting in plays. She is a recipient of the Jefferson Award and is the founder of Young Artist Alliance, which creates performance opportunities for young people while serving the community.

We’re very proud of Caroline Ford. Our community and state should be proud of her as well. We believe she will represent Kentucky very well, and we wish her the best of luck in her upcoming pageant in August.
