SCOTTSVILLE – Noah Richard “Jamup” Berry, 88, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a 1956 graduate of Allen County High where he played basketball under Coach Jimmy Bazzell. After high school he served in the Army National Guard. He was a retired school bus driver for the Allen County School System and a member of Martinsville Missionary Baptist Church.
“Jamup” lived for 80 years in the Meador Community where he was proud to be a farmer. He enjoyed raising cattle, tobacco, hay and ear corn for feed. He loved his John Deere equipment as much as he did the Kentucky Wildcats.
He was bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel. He loved his family and his neighbors always lending a hand or swapping work. He loved having neighbors stop by and share stories of the good old days.He was a son of the late Leo Berry and Winnie Alice Harrison Berry.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Maybell Keith Berry, Scottsville, KY; 2 daughters: Sheila Meeks (Mike), Bowling Green, KY and Shannon Stewart (Terry), Scottsville, KY; 5 grandchildren: Lindsay Meeks, Lisa Johnson (Marshall); Melissa Meeks; R. Devin Stewart (Kara); R. Logan Stewart (Kayla); 6 great grandchildren: Leona Mae Johnson, Emmy Kate Johnson, Abby Rae Stewart, Noah Thomas Stewart, Cooper Wayne Johnson and Parker Michael Johnson. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Magdalene Parmer, Genata Roberts, Margaret Schreiner, Anna Lee Ausbrooks and Teresa Rhoton and 2 brothers: Robert Berry and Jasper Columbus “J.C.” Berry.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Devin Stewart, Logan Stewart and Mark Hale officiating with burial in Martinsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 7:00 A.M. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
