Vandals caused $50,000 to $60,000 in damage to multiple golf carts at Saylor’s Golf Carts in Smiths Grove.

Lindsey Reeder, 20, of Smiths Grove, was identified as one of the suspects, as well as three juveniles. Reeder was taken to Warren County Regional Jail; the three juveniles were cited and released to their parents.

Reeder was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1,000,000, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. The juveniles were charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1,000,000 and second-degree criminal mischief. Reeder remains jailed in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

“Through investigation it was determined that Friday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. three juveniles and an adult forced their way into the fence that surrounds the business,” Warren County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Stephen Harmon. “They stole nine golf carts, and they were located all over Smiths Grove. They scattered them. None of them was recovered at the residences of Reeder or the juveniles. Several other carts were damaged to the point of a total loss.”

Initial estimates put the losses at about $30,000, Harmon said. But several of the damaged carts belonged to customers, which prolonged the damage estimate report, Harmon said.

“It was apparent they were intentionally damaged and wrecked into each other. There were broken frames. There was also other body damage,” Harmon said.
