Western Kentucky’s Kaylee Cox added another accolade to her collection on Wednesday as the American Volleyball Coaches’ Assocation announced their All-American selections, with Cox earning Honorable Mention recognition.

Cox comes off a season that saw her ranked in the top 50 nationally in total kills (466), points (563.5), and service aces (50). She also finished eighth in Conference USA in hitting percentage (.314) and second in kills per set (3.55), points and service aces (0.40/S). Additionally, she was named the CUSA Preseason Player of the Year, the CUSA Alyssa Cavanaugh Player of the Year, and earned her second straight AVCA All-Region honor.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter was the lead offensive weapon for the Hilltoppers, closing her season with 466 kills and a .314 hitting clip en route to the program’s ninth CUSA tournament title, 10th CUSA regular-season title and 17th NCAA Tournament appearance.

Along the way, she earned CUSA All Conference First Team recognition, as well as being named the tournament MVP during the CUSA championship tournament.

The Flower Mound, Texas, native served as a six-rotation player for the Hilltoppers, finishing with a 95.6% serve receive success rate, and led WKU in service aces. On the other side of the net, Cox collected 70 total blocks when on the front row, with 25 of those blocks being solo stuffs.

Cox’s honor marks the 29th total All-American accolade for the Hilltoppers, with 12 different players combining for the mark in program history. She recently graduated in December owith a degree in interdisciplinary studies. Cox was also recently drafted Nov. 25 by the Columbus Fury to play in the Pro Volleyball Federation.
