SCOTTSVILLE William Curtis Smalling, 67, of Adolphus died at 7:35 p.m. Aug. 24, 2004, at his home.
The Macon County, Tenn., native was a retired farmer, a retired truck driver for Cardox Liquid Air and a member of Teamsters Union, The Rifle Club, Black and Tan Coon Hunters Club, Tennessee Walking Horse Association and Simmental Cattle Association. He was a son of the late Charlie Corbin Smalling and Lena Pearl West Smalling. He was preceded in death Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Ridge Church, where he was a member, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home and will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Pleasant Ridge Church.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie C. Cascaden; a daughter, Glenda Gale Sis Kuehn and her husband, Robert, of North Port, Fla.; a son, Tony Curtis Smalling and his wife, Margee, of Nashville, Ind.; his former spouse, Imogene Smalling of North Port, Fla.; a stepson, John D. Cascaden and his wife, Dustie Dawn, of Adolphus; two brothers, Tom Smalling of Adolphus and Rodger Smalling of Nashville; a sister, Ethel Mae Goad of Portland, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Colin Kuehn, Nickolas and Wesley Smalling, Seth, Misty and Hunter J.C. Cascaden, and Cory Collins; and several nieces, nephews and Mennonite family.
