Jean Thompson Dorris, 87, of Bowling Green, entered into rest Oct. 11, 2013, at Greenview Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Russellville, she was the daughter of the late Cecil B. and Mary Richardson Thompson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bland Dorris; and sister, Ruth Thompson Morriss of Russellville.
Jean is survived by her son, David Thompson Dorris of Nashville; two grandsons, Walker Thompson Dorris and Carson Zimmerman Dorris of Nashville; two nephews, Brad Coffman of Bowling Green and Dent Morriss of Springfield, Tenn.; a niece, Beth Campbell of Louisville; and a great-nephew, Julien Morriss of Richmond, Va.
Jean was a charter member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Jean enjoyed her Sunday school class and being a part of Bowling Green Retirement Village.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Eastwood Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Lover’s Lane Chapel and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service time at 11 a.m. at Eastwood Baptist Church.
