Restaurant inspections for Aug. 13-20, according to the Barren River District Health Department:
Thirds Wings & BBQ, 200 College St., passed; score 100.
Ruby Tuesday, 2925 Scottsville Road, follow-up required because grease on the ground next to the Dumpster was running into the storm sewer; score 85.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, 2712 Scottsville Road, passed; score 100.
Outback Steakhouse, 3260 Scottsville Road, follow-up required because the dishwasher was not reaching the correct temperature; score 84. Passed immediate follow-up inspection; score 88.
Royal Thai, 1971 Cave Mill Road, follow-up required because the supervisor/person in charge was not aware of food safety, cleaning etc.; insect spray was not labeled for commercial food service; and there was no date marking on leftovers, ready-to-eat foods etc.; score 76.
— Restaurants are inspected at least once every six months by Barren River District Health Department inspectors who use a 44-item checklist to evaluate a restaurant’s cleanliness, food handling and storage. Follow-up inspections are done if needed. A restaurant has 10 days to correct its problem if it scores below an 85 or is cited for a critical violation.
