Dragons tighten grip on top spot in latest poll

The Warren Central boys’ basketball team has finally got some distance in the latest Area Top 10 poll, with the Dragons a unanimous choice for the top spot in this week’s poll.

The Dragons opened District 14 play with a 71-41 win over South Warren and have won six straight heading into Tuesday’s game at Barren County. Bowling Green is second, with Greenwood holding at third. Unbeaten Clinton County moves up to fourth, with South Warren fifth.

Butler County, Warren East, Barren County, Cumberland County and Russell County round out the boys’ poll.

On the girls’ side, Franklin-Simpson remains a unanimous No. 1 with Barren County holding in second. Metcalfe County moves up to third, with Warren East fourth and Bowling Green fifth.

Allen County-Scottsville, Cumberland County, Monroe County, Greenwood and Todd County Central round out the girls’ poll.
