Georgia Frances Dashner

Georgia Frances Dashner, 86, of Verona, Mo., passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Aurora Nursing Center.

She was born June 30, 1926, in Bowling Green, Ky., the daughter of Jessie James and Lassie Mae (Black) Hazel. Georgia worked as an administrative assistant for the Ward’s, Sears and Macy’s stores in Kansas City, Mo. She moved to the Aurora community in 1982, and was a member of the Aurora Church of Christ. On July 23, 1947, she married Charles B. “C.B.” Dashner Jr. in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2002.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Garry Dashner of Verona, Mo., and Larry Dashner of Ocala, Fla.; three sisters, Nattalee House of Franklin, Ky., Becky Smith of Greenwood, Ind., and Jeanette Massengale of Bedford, Ind.; three brothers, Harold Hazel of Brooklyn, Ind., Bobby Hazel and Joe Hazel of Bowling Green, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents and three brothers, Marvin, Elzie and Jay Hazel, also preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Mo. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.
