Arbutus ‘Boots’ Lowdermilk

Arbutus “Boots” Lowdermilk, 81, of Minerva, Ohio, went home to meet her Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Minerva Eldercare. She was born March 28, 1931, in Belmont County, Ohio, to Albert and Frances (Triplett) Escott. She was an employee of Canton Containers, attended Canton Actual Business College and is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Donald) Johnson of Smithfield, Utah, and Barb Wade of Denver; a son, Dan (Mary) Lowdermilk of Rockfield, Ky.; five sisters, Jane Scott of Minerva, Janet (Bob) Spahr of Minerva, Darlene “Punk” Escott of Minerva, Ruth Hamll of Ohio and Audrey Bast of Minerva; a brother, Don Escott of Minerva; a sister-in-law, Jean Escott of North Canton; five grandchildren, Allan Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Traci Bryant, Mandy Sharp and Hannah Lowdermilk; two step grandchildren, Jason and Doug Yeager; eight great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren and her favorite companion, Rita.

She is preceded in death by six sisters, Opal Garner, Helen Clark, Frances Kidder, Martha Givins, Ruby Haines and Alberta Escott; four brothers, Alfred Escott, Charles Haines, Kenneth Escott and Dean Haines.

The family would like to thank the staff at Minerva Eldercare for the wonderful care.

Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. in the Minerva First Christian Church with Mr. Ralph Norman, Mr. Dale Roberts and Phil Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. Calling hours were Sunday and this morning.
