Western Kentucky mascot Big Red is the inaugural member of the Capital One Mascot Challenge Hall of Fame, Capital One announced Tuesday.

Big Red has been a Capital One All-American Mascot eight times (2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011). Although never a Capital One National Mascot of the Year, Big Red has had a consistent showing each year and is considered one of the funniest and most popular mascots throughout the contest.

“Big Red’s presence and influence has helped to shape the Capital One Mascot Challenge as seen today,” read a statement on Capital One’s website. “Big Red’s outstanding accomplishments, both on and off the field, exemplify what a mascot should be.”
