FRANKLIN — The angels carried Lee Lacy in their arms to heaven on Sept. 9, 2012. He passed away on Interstate 90 in South Dakota in a fatal vehicle accident. Lee was active duty military and en route to Fort Lewis, Wash., following leave having served as a pallbearer at his beloved grandfather’s funeral.
Lee was born Nov. 21, 1980, in Lafayette, La. He was dedicated to the Lord by the Rev. James Glass on Feb. 2, 1981, and pastored by the Rev. George Glass Jr. in his younger years. Lee later embraced the Methodist faith.
Lee loved his children. He enjoyed camping, flight lessons, tattooing, walking his dog Tank, and scuba diving. He will be fondly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by loving grandparents, Joy Franklin (Moses) and Landis Franklin.
Lee is survived by his children, Mitchel and Serenity Lacy of Jacksonville, Fla.; his parents, Karen Lacy Stewart and David Stewart of McMinnville, Tenn., and father, Bob Lacy of Jonesboro, La.; a grandmother, Regina Franklin; two aunts, Rowena Lewis (Arless) of DeRidder, La., and Monica Franklin (Mark Rutherford) of Knoxville, Tenn.; three cousins, Rich (Amie) Lewis, Robby Lewis and Connor Hill; stepsiblings, Michael Stewart, Amy Stewart, Kevin Stewart and Bryan Stewart; former wife and mother of his children, Sheree Lacy and her parents, Debbie and Mike Haymon; grandparents, Sgt. Maj. LeeRoy Chris Lacy (deceased) and Dixie Lacy and 1st Sgt. Jackson and his Army family.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home in Franklin. The funeral with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Online condolences may be made at www.craftonfuneralhome.com.
