RUSSELLVILLE — James “Jim” Thomason, 59, of Russellville, died Feb. 23, 2011, at Logan Memorial Hospital.

The Logan County native was born May 1, 1951. He was the owner and operator of Thomason’s Decorating Center in Russellville for 35 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Street, where he served as deacon and church treasurer. He was a son of the late Otis Thomason and Lillie Rainwaters Thomason. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mazelle Tyree; and two brothers, Eldon and Ricky Thomason.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, with burial in Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home and begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church General Fund.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Thomason; two sons, Robert Cary Thomason of Russellville and Steven Thomason of Bowling Green; a brother, Charles Thomason of Russellville; a sister, Nyla Beal of Russellville; and three grandchildren.
