James Jefferson Love, Jr.

BOWLING GREEN – James Jefferson (Jimmy) Love, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7, 2024 surrounded by family. The Warren County native was the son of the late James Jefferson Love, Sr. and Martha Jean Veluzat Love.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Frank Love (Phyllis) and 2 nephews: Robert Love (Amy) and Joshua Love. Mr. Love spent his life traveling all over the United States as an over the road truck driver. He taught at the Bowling Green Vocational School instructing students in the truck driving program for several years. After retiring from Ballard Inc. Trucking, he spent some time as a bus driver for Warren County Public Schools.

He was a member of the White Stone Quarry Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, attending events at Beech Bend Raceway and spending time with family and his beloved pet “Benji.” Jimmy never met a stranger. He is survived by 1 daughter: Tasha Martin and husband, Brent, Scottsville, KY; 1 son: Jeffrey Love, Austin, KY; his loyal friend: Madeline Honeycutt, Glasgow, KY; 1 sister: Jeanne Love Davis, Louisville, KY; 1 brother: Tim Love and wife, Michelle, Bowling Green, KY; 3 grandchildren: Jace Love, Millie Martin and Ella Martin and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for all friends and family will be hosted by Page’s Pizza Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at 1532 Meador Port Oliver Road, Scottsville, KY 42164. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions for expenses incurred during his illness.
