Sandi Patty: On Broadway

With thirty-nine Dove Awards, five Grammy Awards, five Gold and three Platinum albums to her credit, gospel singer Sandi Patty ventures into some unusual musical territory with Sandi Patty: On Broadway, April 18th at Van Meter Hall. As one of the most popular Christian vocalist around, her voice has the range (4 octaves, according to her mom) and the power needed for the demanding line up of Broadway favorites she’ll be performing with Orchestra Kentucky. Ms. Patty’s Broadway show has met with critical acclaim in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Nashville.
Selections for this concert will feature classics of the musical theater. Popular hits from The Sound of Music, The Music Man, Hello Dolly and Gypsy are just a few of the classics Ms. Patty will perform.
While a prolific recording artist with over thirty albums in her catalogue, Sandi Patty is no stranger to the concert stage. She frequently performs to capacity crowds and has worked with leading orchestras including the Cincinnati Pops, the Dallas Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Bowling Green’s Orchestra Kentucky. Ms. Patty had this to say after her (sold out) 2009 Christmas concert with Orchestra Kentucky, “… it was nothing but a pleasure to work with Orchestra Kentucky. Maestro Jeff Reed, was one of the most poetic conductors we have had the privilege to work with.” Ms. Patty will be joined by a young female vocalist on selections from The Sound of Music and Peter Pan. Auditions for this unique opportunity were conducted by Orchestra Kentucky in March.
Sandi Patty: On Broadway will be performed at Van Meter Hall on Western Kentucky University’s campus April 18th at 7:30 pm. The VIP Series is made possible by Carol and Denny Wedge. The concert is sponsored by the Ervin G. Houchens Foundation and co-sponsored by Linda & Don Vitale, First Choice Home Medical, Mary & Norris Thomas, Sandy & Dan Riley and Darlene & Jim Johnson
