OWENSBORO Gertrude Freels Trudy Saltzman of Owensboro died Jan. 20, 2004, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.She was a retired employee of General Electric, where she was employed from 1950-1975; was a member of Acacia Chapter No. 46, a past Worthy Matron of Utica Chapter, a past Deputy Grand Matron of District No. 13 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Neith Temple No. 80 Daughters of the Nile, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church and a 1942 graduate of Daviess County High School. She was a daughter of the late Sidney Freels and Pauline Rowland Freels. She was preceded in death by a son, John R. Saltzman.Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Panther Creek Baptist Church, 7146 U.S. Hwy. 431, Owensboro, KY 42301.Survivors include her husband, Elbert Lee Skeeter Saltzman; a son, Randy L. Saltzman and his wife, Belinda, of Bowling Green; four sisters, Agnes Nicely, Louise Taylor and Mayme Weikel, all of Owensboro, and Sidney Smithson of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, B. Chance Saltzman, Jesse Saltzman, Jenny Saltzman and Janna Saltzman Goodnight; and four great-grandchildren.
