Vette City Roller Derby

Published 12:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2011

The ladies of Vette City Roller Derby extend our warmest invitation to what is sure to be the mother of all bouts: a doubleheader re-match against the Black-n-Bluegrass Rollergirls of Florence, who regrettably rolled over both the Hot Broads and the Vixens on BBRG home turf in April. VCRD doesn’t take too kindly to a double defeat, so we’re lacing up our skates and strapping on our helmets to wreak some revenge on June 25 at The Skate Box.

Doors open at 4 p.m., with the Hot Broads taking the floor at 5 p.m. and the Vixens getting ready to rumble at 7 p.m. Our fearless announcers Latenight Lyle and Mello Joe will call the action as our zombie cheerleaders rouse the crowd, VCRD-style. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, and are available locally at Spencer’s Coffeehouse, Greener Groundz, Great Escape Records and Comics, and the Skate Box, and in Nashville at Asphalt Beach. Kids 10 and under get in free! As always, a portion of our proceeds will benefit a local non-profit organization; this month the honor goes to the Dream Factory.
