The Rev. Mitchell LeRoy Lewis Sr., 71, of Bowling Green died Nov. 23, 2004, at The Medical Center.

The Barren County native attended school in Barren County and was a graduate of the University of El Paso in Texas. The retired Army command sergeant major worked for Warren County Janitorial Services, Murray Guard Industries of Columbus, Ohio. He was pastor of Woodsonville Baptist Church in Munfordville. He was a son of the late Rev. John Lewis and Bessie Lewis.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Old Rocky Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Burnam & Son Mortuary.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Hampton Lewis; a daughter, Anna M. Barbee and her husband, David, of Bowling Green; two sons, Clinton Levy Britt and his wife, Kathy, of Madison, Tenn., and Mitchell LeRoy Lewis Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Columbus, Ohio; seven brothers, A.C. Alexander Lewis, Fred Lewis and his wife, Erlene, Robert B. Lewis and his wife, Mary, the Rev. Charles Lewis and his wife, Fannie, and the Rev. Frank Lewis and his wife, Diane, all of Bowling Green, the Rev. Oliver Lewis and his wife, Lovella, of Indianapolis, and the Rev. Bradley Lewis and his wife, Betty, of Glasgow; a sister, Nintha Skiles of Bowling Green; an aunt, Roberta Edmonds of Glasgow; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
