Scott Gaines is general manager of the Daily News. He handles the day-to-day business of the newspaper.

He began working in the advertising department in 1997, became credit manager in 1999, and was named general manager in 2011.

Scott, a Bowling Green native, graduated from Bowling Green High School. He graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1996 with a degree in public relations. He is a 2000 graduate of the Leadership Bowling Green program.

He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing. Scott is a member of Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He also owns and operates several residential and commercial properties in the Bowing Green area.
