Roger ‘Bing’ Russell Kilgus

BOWLING GREEN – Roger “Bing” Russell Kilgus, 92, passed away on December 8, 2024 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green with his family by his side. Bing was born on November 10, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Helen Atwood Jones and Roger Schmidt Kilgus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Winnie Miller. Bing was a 1940 graduate from Male High School in Louisville, KY.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Louisville and graduated from The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he was a pharmacist in the United States Army. After his military service, Bing moved to Bowling Green where he was a pharmacist for more than forty years, and retired in 1994.
He was a member of the local chapters of The American Legion, VFW, and the Elks Lodge. Bing enjoyed sports, spending time with his family, and a glass of good bourbon. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brawner Kilgus, son, Paul Kilgus (Delphine), daughter-in-law, Lisa Kilgus, and daughter, Kay Kay Lee (Eric), four grandchildren; Brandon Kilgus (Anna), Tyler Kilgus, Brooklyn Kilgus, Annie Lee, and a great- granddaughter, Kennedy Kilgus, two sisters: Mazie Kreicker, and Carol Gard, many nieces and nephews, and extended family: Eli Burwash, Sam Tallent (Whitney), Paisley, Reese, and Charlie Tallent. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, 901 Fairview Avenue, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
