VSA Kentucky Young Soloist Award Call for Entries

The VSA Kentucky Young Soloists Award recognizes outstanding young musicians with disabilities and supports and encourages them in their pursuit of a career. All types of music are accepted – country, classical, jazz, rap, rock, bluegrass, world, etc. A committee of distinguished music professionals select the award recipient who will receive a $1000 educational scholarship. Any individual (instrumental or vocal) who has a disability, age 25 and under, is eligible to apply. Musical ensembles (two to eight members) are also eligible, if at least one of the members has a disability. If you are a young soloist in Kentucky and would like to apply for the VSA Kentucky Young Soloist Award please download the application and guidelines at www.vsarts.org/soloist or www.vsaky.org.
The award winner will be eligible for the VSA International Young Soloist Award. Recipients of the International Award will receive $5000 and perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Application materials should be received no later than November 15, 2010. Kentucky applications should be sent to:
