Butterfly Watch: Differences in moths and butterflies

- Butterflies fly and feed during the day. Most moths fly and feed at night.
- When at rest butterflies hold their wings one way—usually straight up over their bodies, while moths either fold down over their bodies, fold like a tent over their bodies, or rest with their wings extended.
- Almost all butterflies have knoblike clubs or nodules at the end of their antennae.
- Their are 2 super families of butterfly—true butterfly and skippers.
