A Bowling Green man is under indictment after allegedly forging thousands of dollars worth of checks in a two-month period last year.

Joshua J. Haley, 22, 287 N. Campbell Road, was indicted Wednesday by a Warren County grand jury on 44 counts of second-degree forgery.

According to Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Cohron, the indictment came following an allegation that Haley took checks from a friend’s grandmother.

The indictment lists 44 checks that were allegedly forged on one woman’s account between April 11 and May 26, 2009, at Walmart in the total amount of $3,143.63.

Warren Circuit Judge John Grise set Haley’s bond at $5,000.
