BROWNSVILLE — Dessie M. Hayes Woodcock, 80, of Sunfish, died Dec. 24, 2010, in Bowling Green.

The Edmonson County native was a housewife and a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Gilbert Hayes and Carrie Harp Hayes. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Simon Meredith; a grandson, Travis Woodcock; and two sisters, Rue Jaggers and Barbara Vincent.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Bee Spring Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel, and begins at 9 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Jasper Woodcock of Sunfish; a son, Larry Woodcock and his wife, Janette, of Bee Spring; a daughter, Marilyn Lyons and her husband, Chuck, of Louisville; two brothers, the Rev. Essie Hayes of Sweeden and Athel Hayes of Bee Spring; four sisters, Ocia Elmore and her husband, Richard, of Louisville, Phyllis Wilson of Louisville, Margaret Van Meter of Bee Spring and Helen Van Meter and her husband, McNeil, of Bee Spring; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
