Kentucky Crafted (KC), a program of the Kentucky Arts Council, will be exhibiting “Kentucky Crafted”™ products for the 22nd year at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), August 11-16, 2007, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York.

Vallorie Henderson, Special Projects Coordinator for Kentucky Crafted (KC), will be managing the KC booth, #5304/5403 in the Handmade Section, showcasing products from three juried participants: Leeds Fine Jewelry, Richmond; Abby Glen Designs, Louisville; and Gail Cohen Designs, Lexington.

“Two jewelers from Kentucky participating in the New York show demonstrates a strong market trend for the summer. We’re seeing very strong sales in jewelry across the board at this time, everything from specially designed whimsical pieces for children to very high-end collector pieces made from cutting-edge found materials,” said Vallorie Henderson.

First time exhibitor, John Leeds (Leeds Fine Jewelry), will be presenting his unique acid etched jewelry collection and popular leather and stone design products. John Leeds has owned and operated a retail and custom shop since 1991. Veteran exhibitor Abby Glen Designs, a two-family business, will present jewelry design incorporating some of the finest beads and semi precious stones available. Also returning will be Gail Cohen, (Gail Cohen Designs) who has been designing batik clothing and accessories since 1975. Her pieces are individually hand dyed natural fabrics. Her focus is on “comfort” and resort wear in bright colors. Gail will also be offering a line of tabletop ware including placemats, linens, table runners, and more.

Every year, over 43,000 national and international attendees gather in New York representing the full scope of the gift and home furnishing industries, including mass merchants, department stores, independent specialty retailers, distributors, importers, catalog companies and e-tailers. They come to the NYIGF show after show to find an unparalleled selection of leading-edge products.
