Police Report : Woman injured in ATV accident

Amber Roberts, 18, of Bowling Green was injured shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in an all-terrain vehicle accident.

Roberts was a passenger on an ATV heading north at 3940 Clifty Hollow Road. The ATV took a curve too quickly and ran off the right side of the roadway, according to a report from Kentucky State Police.

Roberts, along with the driver of the ATV, Joshua D. Thompson, 23, of Bowling Green were thrown from the vehicle after it went into a sideways skid, hit a tree line and overturned, according to the report.

Roberts was taken to The Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, according to the report. Roberts, whose condition was not available, and Thompson were not wearing helmets.

Fraud – A Bowling Green woman reported to the Bowling Green Police Department on Monday that her Sears credit card had been used to make more than $5,700 in charges.

The woman, who told police she suspected her sister of making the charges, said she became aware of the problem after receiving a letter from Sears asking if she wanted to purchase an extended warranty for a plasma television she did not purchase.

Theft – The rear door of a house in the 1400 block of Park Street was smashed overnight Monday. Thieves took a PlayStation 2 game console, games and DVDs. Damage and items missing were valued at $550, according to city police.

Theft – Rafferty’s reported Tuesday that over the past several months someone had been ordering gift cards online using stolen credit cards. The charges totaled $873, according to a city police report.

Theft – Bowling Green police are investigating whether a woman illegally withdrew $2,000 from her soon-to-be ex-husband’s account at South Central Bank, according to a report.

The bank on July 28 gave the woman the money and then became aware it was not a joint account. The bank asked for the money to be returned and it was not.

Theft – More copper wire was stolen over the weekend from a construction site in the 200 block of Jody Richards Drive, according to a city police report. The 2,500 feet of spooled No. 10 wire and other items were valued at more than $1,800.

Theft – Warren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the July 27 theft of merchandise and prescription medicine from a vehicle on Glen Lily Road. The items were valued at $1,000.

The department also is investigating the Sunday theft of tools, a go-cart and auto parts from a home in the 900 block of Murphy Road.
