Leola Johnson

Leola Johnson, 83, of Bowling Green died Sept. 28, 2007, at The Medical Center.

The Todd County native was employed for more than 20 years with the Gold Post Restaurant and was a child care provider.

She was a daughter of the late Rev. Flem Wisdom and Mariah Butler Wisdom and the wife of the late James Alfred Johnson. She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Louise, Mary, Annie, Elizabeth, Rachel, Elsie and Omelia; two brothers, Frank and Richmond; and several other brothers and sisters.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Woodburn, where she was the eldest living member, treasurer, secretary and steward, with burial in St. Paul A.M.E. Church cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burnam & Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Annie Edmonds of Guthrie; a son, James Edmonds and his wife, Katherine, of Cross Plains, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
