The Hardees restaurant in Russellville closed Monday as part of the companys plans to improve overall operating performance.The Russellville store is one of 28 that will be closed in the next few months, according to a press release from CKE Restaurants, Inc., the parent company of Hardees.The restaurants were performing poorly and didnt fit in with the new menu rollouts, including the Thickburger, according to Andrew F. Puzder, president and chief executive officer of CKE Restaurants. They are older restaurants in poor locations.The large sign pointing out the restaurant was taken down the same day the restaurant closed. A sign on the door says This restaurant is closed. Please visit another Hardees location.The owner of the building that formerly housed the restaurant could not be reached for comment.
