ALBANY Elmer Bates Boles, 83, of Monticello, formerly of Bowling Green, died June 16, 2002, at Wayne County Hospital.The Clinton County native was a retired public health inspector, a World War II Navy veteran who served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, former president of the Kentucky Sanaterians Association, a graduate of Wendy High School in Wayne County and a member of Locketts Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a son of the late A.H. Boles and Nannie Boles and husband of the late Vada Frost Boles.Funeral will June 19, 2002, at Talbott Funeral Home with graveside service at Memorial Hill Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Locketts Chapel United Methodist Church.Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Speck of Monticello, Betty Marx of Owensboro and Donna Grovesteen of Decater, Ill.; a son, Dr. Jerry Boles of Bowling Green; a sister, Mada Boles Allen of Monticello; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
