Elvira Giovanelli, 86, of Bowling Green died at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 11, 2002, at a Bowling Green nursing home.The New Haven, Conn., native was a retired food services employee for Southern Connecticut University and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was a daughter of the late Vincent Pascarella and Christina Nuzzo Pascarella and the wife of the late Charles Giovanelli.Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:45 a.m. EST Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hamden, Conn., with burial in Beaverdale Cemetery in New Haven, Conn. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. EST Friday at Iovanne Funeral Home in New Haven. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.Survivors include two sons, Ned Giovanelli of Bowling Green and Ernest Giovanelli of Prospect, Conn.; a sister, Antoinette Liso of East Haven, Conn.; and three grandchildren.
