Fred William Billy Compton, 56, of Bowling Green died at 3:48 a.m. Feb. 11, 2002, at The Medical Center.The Edmonson County native was a Yellow Cab driver and a member of Shadyland Church of Christ. He was a son of the late William Bud Compton and Dorothy Watt Compton of Bowling Green, who survives.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.Other survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Compton; a son, Micheal Compton of Bowling Green; a daughter, Kimberly Cook of Smiths Grove; a sister, Linda Cohron of Bowling Green; a brother, Bobby Compton of Bowling Green; three grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; a great-stepgrandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
