V. Elmo Dearing, 86, of Bowling Green died at 12:45 a.m. April 5, 2005, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center.
The Warren County native was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Bethany Baptist Church and Goshen Masonic Lodge F & AM and was a self-employed farmer and a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the Medusa Corp. He was a son of the late Isabell Semands and Virgil Henry Dearing. He was preceded in death Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Sledge and her husband, Delroy, of Alvaton, and Lyn Edlin of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Tommy Dearing and his wife, Lynda, and Myron Dearing and his wife, Kanita, all of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Marcy Sledge, Tracy Sledge, Charissa Evans and her husband, John, Renea Dijab and her husband, Adis, Lisa White and her husband, Barry, Michelle Edlin, Christy Smith and her husband, Jason, Heather Young and her husband, Scott, Amie Kirby and her husband, Kyle, and Carolyn Dearing; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Sledge, Audrey and Grace Evans, Hunter White, Cam White, Lina Dijab, Brendon Smith and Ryan Smith; a brother, A. Russell Dearing of Bowling Green; a sister, Emma Lou Jent and her husband, Aubrey, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
