Dr. Douglas W. Schutte, 53, of Bowling Green died at 2:06 a.m. Jan. 28, 2005, at his home.

The Hamilton, Ohio, native was the Allied Health Department head at Western Kentucky University, a 1978 graduate of University of Louisville Dental School and a member of the American Dental Association and Kentucky Dental Association. He was past president of Pennyrile Dental Association, an honorary member of Kentucky Dental Hygiene Association and a board member of the Coalition of Dental Health Association. He was a son of Donald Schutte and Marjorie Wagner Schutte of Hamilton, Ohio, who survive.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eastwood Baptist Church, where he was a member, and at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Taylorsville, with burial in Mount Washington Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at J.C. Other survivors include his wife, Cathy McClain Schutte; a son, Patrick Schutte of Louisville; two daughters, Melissa Schutte and Elizabeth Schutte, both of Louisville; a brother, Michael Schutte and his wife, Nancy, of Hamilton; a sister, Gail Irvine and her husband, Michael, of Hamilton; and grandchildren, Ashlyn Schutte and Kaitlyn Schutte, both of Louisville.  Daily News ·813 College St. ·PO Box 90012 ·Bowling Green, KY ·42102 ·270-781-1700
