BROWNSVILLE John Eugene Joe McElfresh, 73, of Bowling Green died at 4:09 p.m. June 7, 2005, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Indianapolis native was a brick mason and a Pentecostal. He was a son of the late Ralph McElfresh and Bessie Cawthorn McElfresh.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gravil Funeral Home, with burial in Math Minton Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jenny Brown McElfresh; three sons, Danny Halsell and Larry McElfresh, both of Bowling Green, and John McElfresh Jr. of Indianapolis; four daughters, Pam Wallace and Linda McElfresh, both of Bowling Green, Jay Blair of Indianapolis and Sue Jaggers of Chalybeate; three stepsons, J.R. Downing of Bowling Green, Tom Welch of Indianapolis and Bobby Downing of Hopkinsville; five stepdaughters, Anita Mann and Judy Thompson, both of Glasgow, Betty Gerry of Bowling Green, Susan Hendren of Carrollton and Rose Brown of Mount Washington; a sister, Lucille Jackson of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.  Daily News ·813 College St. ·PO Box 90012 ·Bowling Green, KY ·42102 ·270-781-1700
