After more than a decade with Bowling Green City Schools, Meg Crittenden is moving one county over.
Crittenden, who was director of elementary programs and public relations at the city schools central office, has taken a new job as assistant superintendent of instruction for Allen County Schools. Her new duties will include overseeing Allens instructional programs as they relate to curriculum and supervising assessment and accountability programs.
A lot of it is the same (as what I have been doing), in that I always worked with curriculum for K-12 at the city schools, Crittenden said. Its probably the assessment piece that will be the difference.
Crittenden joined Bowling Green City Schools in 1994 as principal of T.C. Cherry Elementary School. She served there for two years before moving to the central office and putting nine years into her job there.
Her new job took effect Friday.
Ill miss the many friends that Ive met through the city school district, yet Im very excited about my new position in Allen County, she said. I anticipate making many new friendships and professional partners there.
Bowling Green City Schools has already posted an advertisement for her position, which Superintendent John Settle hopes will be filled quickly. That person will take over the job as director of elementary programs, and the district had already been searching for a public relations coordinator before Crittenden resigned.
I will certainly miss her energy and vivacious character, Settle said. She was such a light to have in our office and represent our district. Its our loss and Allen Countys gain. Daily News ·813 College St. ·PO Box 90012 ·Bowling Green, KY ·42102 ·270-781-1700
