GLASGOW Earl Russell Wilson, 87, of Glasgow died Sept. 25, 2003, at his home.The Barren County native was an Army veteran, beginning his military service as a teenager with the 623rd Calvary unit in Glasgow, was a World War II and Korean War veteran, serving with the Glasgow National Guard, and retired after a 30-year military career. In Glasgow, he had been employed at Ragland-Potter prior to WWII and between WWII and the Korean War, he had been a manager of the Firestone Store in Glasgow. After retiring from the military, he had been employed by an auto dealership in Pennsylvania, where he had lived for nearly 30 years. After moving back to Glasgow in 1996, he and his wife had operated an antique shop on Columbia Avenue, The Doll House. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a son of the late Leonard R. Preacher Wilson and Ellie Welch Wilson and the husband of the late Rebie McGuire Wilson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Carl Wilson; a sister, Honor Wilson Moore; and by two sisters and a brother who died in infancy.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors by Disabled American Veterans No. 20 of Glasgow. Box 171, Glasgow, KY 42142.Survivors include a daughter, Maria Elena Lovins of Bordentown, N.J.; two brothers, Joel Wilson of Glasgow and George Wilson of Florida; two sisters, Bea LaPort and Imogene Sharp, both of Texas; three grandchildren, Ken Lovins and his wife, Cris, of California, Kyle Lovins and his fianc, Kristen Parker, of New Jersey, and Laura Heller and her husband, Robert, of Temple Hill; four great-grandchildren, Candislyn Heller, Jason Heller, Kaley Lovins and Natalie Lovins; and several nieces and nephews.
