John Otis Jenkins, 94, of Bowling Green died at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 16, 2003, at his home.The South Dakota native was owner and operator of County Farm Directory Service in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kentucky; a Youth for Christ director; a lay pastor to rest homes; a Sunday school teacher; and a member of West Minister Bible Church and Gideons International. He was a son of the late Louis Jenkins and Alice Woodward Jenkins. He was preceded in death by a son, James L. Jenkins.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Cornerstone Community Church, 1390 North Greenbay Road, Waukegan, IL 60085.Survivors include his wife, Virginia Scott Jenkins; two daughters, Rebecca Jenkins Gray and Sarah L. Johnson, both of Bowling Green; two sons, David B. Jenkins of Kinder, La., and the Rev. John C. Jenkins of Waukegan, Ill.; a sister, Virginia Jenkins Muir of Carol Steam, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
