MUNFORDVILLE Clara Horton, 72, of Munfordville died at 5:50 a.m. EST Dec. 14, 2003, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.The Cub Run native was a homemaker and member of In God We Trust Church in Austin, Texas. She was a daughter of the late Henry Pete Merideth and Ora Strange Merideth. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Verna Becky Rowley; and two grandsons, John Lee Horton and Jonathan Griffin.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. CST Wednesday at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, where she was a member, with burial in Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home and will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.Survivors include her husband, Alvin Horton; a daughter, Pamela Horton of Horse Cave; three sons, Billy Horton and his wife, Joyce Avery, of Kessinger, Gary Horton and his wife, Gina, of Shelbyville, and James Horton and his wife, Lydia, of Lexington; a sister, Alma Bobby Mattingly of Leitchfield; four half sisters, Rose Howard of Leitchfield, Betty Jane Horton of Kessinger, Lois Roof of Eveleigh and Patricia Newton of Leitchfield; a half brother, Donnie Horton of Hudson; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
